About
At Home Dialyzors United our mission is: “To inspire, inform, and advocate for an extraordinary quality of life for the home dialyzor community.”
Since it’s founding in 2006, HDU has become recognized as an effective provider of support to home dialyzors, having a real impact within the community.
The next several years promise to be exciting ones for HDU as we develop into an organization prominent in advocating for the well-being of the home dialysis community.
"The Decade of Home Dialysis, will be a transformative
time for dialysis patients."
Inspire
HDU provides support and encouragement to patients on home dialysis and care partners . Their friends and supporters also value HDU's wealth of information. Our members and advisors include clinicians and renal professionals worldwide. Although many of us experience chronic kidney disease, we all strive for "new normal" lives. We thrive.
Inform
HDU desires an extraordinary quality of life for all dialyzors. The dialyzor comes first. Care must be patient centered. We believe those on dialysis deserve to live a “new normal” life, whether that be working, volunteering, or traveling. Dialyzors should be able to be full participants in family and community life. Home dialysis helps make this possible.
Advocate
HDU advocates proactively for issues impacting the home dialysis community. HDU stands up for what patients need and want. We don’t hesitate to push buttons to guarantee the best health care possible for those on home dialysis. Most important, you won’t feel alone! Over the years HDU has made great headway advocating for home dialysis patients with government, home dialysis providers, clinicians, and more.
