At the Annual Board Meeting in February, 2015 the Home Dialyzors United Board welcomed new board members and voted on officers. These members represent all facets of the dialysis community and are dedicated to working tirelessly for you. According to the HDU Bylaws Board Members serve for a 2 year term and can be re-elected for up to 3 terms, except for the President, who can remain on the Board, but not serve consecutive terms as President.
HDU is a working Board and Directors receive no compensation, although they are often reimbursed for expenses incurred in the course of serving for HDU. As the only non-profit dialysis organizations that is run by and for home dialyzors, HDU is funded through grants and sponsorships, but has no allegiance to any organization.
The HDU Advisory Board was created in February 2015, and consists of members appointed by the Board of Directors. Candidates for this Board are selected based on theirinterest and expertise in the renal community, and knowledge of the field.
The next several years promise to be exciting ones for HDU as we evolve into an organization prominent in advocating for the well-being of the home dialysis community. We will continue to strive to have a positive impact on the communities we serve. The HDU Board of Directors and Board of Advisors will play a central role in this important work.
Since its founding in 2006, HDU has become recognized as an effective provider of support to home dialyzors, having a real impact within the community. We invite you to become a part of this growing tradition.
